I am going to show you some stats that you can use to inspire your small business ideas for 2012

Used correctly my tips will get your business online in 2012 to a massive new level.

Firstly I should confess that I am going to be shown in a bad light, as I tell you to do fresh posts that are original and of a high standard at least once a week, and as you will see I do not practice what I preach… BUT … ( see more below )

For your website to be well placed by the search engines you need to do three things properly.

 

 

One – You MUST work with keywords, I will show you more soon

Two – You must post quality content with occasional videos and include tags and pictures

Three – You must do this preferably every third day on average, sometimes more often, and sometimes you can leave an occasional week’s gap.

Getting great business ideas for 2012, or taking your existing business and getting it to become the number one website in your niche is not only possible, but if you listen to what I say it is very likely.

Look at the image above, it is a keyword that I have targeted, and if you search images (the results will differ from place to place) you should see some of my websites there.

My point is that as long as you are aware of keywords that are being looked for online, and you apply simple steps to get that keyword solidly set up on your website, you will get the traffic from the people that are searching for that item – or keyword.

Why I am going to be  embarrassed

Back in January 2012, I looked at this website of mine that is all about crafting and checked what keywords I was ranking for, and got a shock.

I admit that I had been busy for most of last year developing new websites for clients, but had not taken any time to look at this website carefully.

I found that I had been targeting “flea markets and Flea marketing” instead of doing correct keyword research.

I then went and did a bit of keyword research and decided to target keywords that had the word “craft” in them.

So I did that, but I did not do it very often, and remember my advice above?  - post every third day?!

So if I had taken my own advice I would have had at least  100 new keyword related posts on my website.

The truth is…

• I posted 4 times in November
• Once on June
• 4 times in April
• Twice in March
• And Once in February.

A grand total of  12 posts the entire year, and remember that is after I noticed that I had not been doing any real work on the website for over a year.

 

Now look at this.

And while you do that remember that I changed my keyword focus back in early February.

Can you see the climb that my website has received once I started to use actual keywords that are being searched for online?

Now I am getting a lot of organic visitors that are coming to my website because I answer what they were looking for when they started to search.

Good for me, and them.

How this will affect your 2012 business ideas projections?

Well as you can see I wrote a few pages and 12 posts to my website, and YES I also did correct social marketing, and tags etc, but I was supposed to have done 100 posts, and yet I am still getting over 140 of my posts and keywords ranked on Google.

Do you realise what I am trying to tell you in a round about way?

If you do the work better than I have done on this website, you will easily succeed, as I have succeeded with such a pathetic effort.

I could be over 10 x bigger on this website had I spent the extra effort on keeping it up to date, and constantly adding quality keyword related posts and items of interest.

TEN TIME BIGGER would be 1200 people a day finding my website or 36000 potential clients.

I Finally am getting to the point relating to your own business ideas for 2012

If you follow a few simple steps and apply then on a regular basis, you can start to get business within days, and it will grow and grow throughout the year and it will get to the point where your website has become an authority website in your chosen niche.

It does not matter if you have never done this at all, or if you have a website that has been collecting dust for three years, all it takes is that carefully worked out step by step system – you will definitely have a fantastic 2012.
